The funeral of Rev Benjamin Alleman Lancaster pastor emeritus of West Orange street church followed illness dating to 1887. Survived by wife, two sisters, and children including Dr Herbert Alleman of Gettysburg Theological Seminary. Interment at Greenwood cemetery after services at St John’s church.
In Earl township at high noon amid family and 20 guests, Miss Lilian Grace Buch daughter of Mr and Mrs Ivan R Buch wed Charles I Willworth of Earl township. Rev S G Kauffman officiated at U B church with maid of honor Miss Margaret Liccy and best man Harry Overholzer. The couple greeted guests, shared a feast, then departed for Philadelphia and other points, to begin housekeeping.
A former Clarion employee Warry J. Kochel wed Geneva Res sler on Tuesday April 6 at 8 o'clock in a Home ceremony conducted by Rev E Roiten of United Brethren church. Attendants were William Kochel and Florence Warner. Guests shared luncheon after the ring ceremony.
J G Weghhaeffer longtime editor of the Elizabethtown Chronicle celebrated his seventy years of life. He began in Middletown at the Journal office and moved to Elizabethtown as a young man to start the Chronicle about fifty years ago. Friends offered congratulations and best wishes on the occasion.

John F. Shirk has converted the Bowers furniture factory north of town into a garage and announces it is open for business. The shop offers auto accessories tires tubes and repair services with Guaranteed work. Machines brought for repair may be returned to New Holland or other places. Public invited to inspect the shop and its equipment with Shirkey promising fair prices.

Mrs Alice Zell and daughters Ethel and Grace of Lancaster visited Elmer Kilhefner. W M Mearig attended Brotherhood convention in Pittsburgh then visited Rochester, Akron, and Cleveland before returning home.

A grand carnival under the Leacock Athletic Association will be held in the Fire Company's Hall Mechanicsburg on Saturday evening April 24. Hackman's orchestra from Lititz will provide music. There will be amusements refreshments and choice cakes for sale. The association seeks liberal support.
A large sale of high grade registered Holstein cattle was held by Reinhold and Son on their farm near East Petersburg on Wednesday afternoon. Sixty one head sold for a total of 32 860 dollars with individual prices reaching up to 2 000 dollars for a cow and similar high bids for yearlings.
