Peanut Removed From Lung Of Seven-Year-Old Boy
Richard Weidman seven of Jackson street returned from the University of Pennsylvania Hospital after an operation to remove a peanut from his left lung. He had been treated for pneumonia but improved after the peanut was found by x ray and removed with a bronchoscope. Dr J A Hoffman reported the peanut is highly destructive to lung tissue and said Richard is improving rapidly toward full recovery.

Cross Roads School Plans To Hold Spelling Bee
Cross Roads School in Earl town ship near Blue Ball will hold a spelling bee on Thursday April 13 at 7 30 p m Teacher Miss Mary R Martin presides over three classes a spelling class for ages fourteen and under a second spelling class open to all and a general information class. The Sensenig Brothers provide accordion banjo and guitar music between sessions with dialogues recitations and songs offered. Admission is 15 cents.

Council authorizes suit against former tax official
Borough Council on Monday night voted to begin criminal proceedings against P. H. Shaub the former tax collector for the tax shortage. The action was approved for the bondsmen, the bonds, and any taxpayer who suffered loss may file suits. The 1929-32 tax bondsmen are to be notified to attend the next Council meeting on May 1.

First reading of the new constitution and by laws governing the local fire company was made by E O Beck at the April meeting. Members urged to study and bring suggestions. The group decided to buy tires for the LaFrance truck with bids favoring East End Garage at 160 dollars for four tires and tubes. Jacob Clime offered a lighter tire for 148 dollars. A 100 dollar painting bill for the ball park grandstand was deferred. Trustees will meet with the Fire Chief and Chief Engineer next Wednesday April 12 to set regulations for general conduct and other issues before the Board.
