The Pennsylvania Railroad promotes seed corn testing with posters describing a simple test to distinguish live kernels from dead. If every kernel sprouts, yields could rise by about ten bushels per acre, greatly boosting county wealth. Instructions include using a damp pad and warm conditions, with re testing until enough perfect ears are found to plant.

Mrs Rebecca Palmer and her granddaughter Edna Newhouser moved to Reading on Wednesday. A sizable group of locals traveled to Lancaster on Saturday. George Sandoe was noted Saturday. Harry Ayers has moved to his new home at Red Well.
Obituary notices report the deaths of Mrs John Plank of Leola aged 55 after pneumonia and Cyrus R Witmer a 71 year old farmer from Goodville. Plank leaves children Mrs Ezra Zook Jacob Samuel and Daniel all of Leola with funeral held Wednesday. Witmer leaves wife and ten surviving children with twelve grandchildren and one great grandchild. funeral from his home and Mennonite church services at Goodville followed by interment in Weaverland cemetery.
The annual meeting reports all bills paid with a surplus and cemetery funds near 2400 dollars invested. Vestry members elected for three years are Elder R. S. Brubaker, deacon W. H.
