Charles Haag Obituary Noted Lancaster Clt Stalwart
Charles Haag a Lancaster native and cigar maker died Tuesday afternoon at 1 30. Born November 13 1858 he was 48 years 4 months and 1 day. He joined Dilworth factory in 1886 and lived in town since. He belonged to St Stephen Reformed Church Washington Camp 40 P C S of A and New Holland Hook & Ladder Co. Survived by wife Ida Schlauch and several siblings. Funeral from his mother in law West Main St Lancaster. Interment St Stephen Reformed Cemetery. Rev Noss officiated. N Henninger undertaker. A large funeral attended by Camp 40 members. A Fine Chase Ends Season At Sun Flower Hunt
The final fox chase of the season occurred last Saturday from C. A. Eby’s home in Sun Flower Hunt. H. A. Showalter dropped the fox at about 3 pm as it ran west then north and south near the Leacock line. The pack numbered around a dozen riders and as many dogs, with C. A. Eby winning the finish and claiming the brush after dogs forced the fox into Ebersole's bottom.

A Successful Bee At Hess Ball Fetes Local Youth
A spelling bee at Hess Ball Saturday evening drew a fair crowd and raised a neat sum. Winners included John Myer Henry Fenninger Charles Feather and Esther Hoover in the under twelve class taught by Samuel Y Wissler. Other prizes went to Maria Bowers Clarissa Numbers Leslie Burkholder and Idan Good in the open class taught by John Bachman. The general class awarded to Harry Zell Clarissa Numbers Ida Good and Mary Musselman under A R Wissler. John Bachman also led a geography contest with Elmer Good Harry Zell Ivan Lowry and Elmer Martin winning prizes. The program featured dialogues and music.
