John H Baldwin directed a full concert to audiences of several hundred, with members in uniform drawing praise as they toured dormitories and workshops. Barn Fire Destroys Lefever Farm Near Witmer
Fire at 10 a m Tuesday destroyed a barn on Jacob Lefever’s farm one mile northwest of Witmer. Sparks from a backfire of an automobile started the blaze. Witmer and Bird in Hand fire companies battled the flames. Large quantities of wheat hay straw and corn were burned. a small automobile was destroyed but the machine said to have started the fire was saved.
