Intercourse Literary Society wins joint debate at Strasburg
The Intercourse Literary Society defeated the Strasburg Society in a debate held last Saturday evening at Strasburg on the prompt Re solved that present immigration is detrimental to the best interests of our country. Willis R. Knox Geo. Q. Weaver and Samuel T. Herman spoke for the affirmative while D. Raymond Long John E. Groff and J. D. Arnold argued the negative. Judges included Willis E. Byer James B. Musser and William Workman. Musser, a student of FL & M College, delivered a polished oration. Music by the Strasburg Mandolin Club and readings by Verna Chandler and Emily V. Seaman complemented the program. The Intercourse Society will close its season due to diphtheria. Knog Zimmerman named a committee to spend the treasury balance: Willis R. Knox Eli R. Niller John Hutchinson John K. Diem Ezra Zimmerman. A meeting will decide fund disposal after April with possible improvements planned.

Aged Woman Improves After Fall at Home
Mrs. Josep Lynch of South Hermitage fell from the cellar top step while climbing to the kitchen and suffered a broken collar bone and bruises. The eighty four year old is improving nicely under care. Her son in law Mia Joseph Henry has been with her since the accident.
