New Harmony Fair Closed With Broad Support
The twenty-ninth annual Posey County Agricultural Society fair ended last Friday to broad acclaim. Entries reached 1,792 with strong stock displays, notably horses and poultry. The event drew criticism from Evansville papers but earned receipts over last year's by more than $100. A serious accident occurred when a buggy overturned injuring a 74-year-old man. The report notes a lively fair with orderly crowds and a comical float depicting blue and gray reunited to poke Evansville editors.
