The Road Law Passes House in Indiana.
INMANAPOLIS March 26 The House approved a road bill that overhauls the existing law. It creates a road superintendent elected April first 1882 and every two years, requires bond double the road funds, and allows county commission oversight. Every able bodied citizen must pay 2 or provide labor, towns are exempt, and road repair months are fixed as April May and June. The superintendent can appoint a road-master paid 150 per day and the superintendent receives 2 per day while employed. The office of supervisor is abolished. The bill moves to the Senate with favorable expectations.
