Letter from Texas praising land and resources
The writer extols Texas charms from the Brazos west, describing timbered streams, rolling prairies, abundant game and fruit, and sturdy building stone. He notes crops like corn and cotton do well with proper cultivation, warns about railroad transport, and suggests industrious farmers can secure a comfortable home with little cash. Ends with a sign off by Joan Preaus and a postscript about Louisville consuming vast whiskey and beer.
