Oregon Mill Fire Destroys Major Flour Plant
A noon blaze at the Oregon Mill leveled the brick structure with only the chimney remaining. Two hundred barrels of flour were salvaged as boilers exploded amid the crowd. Propr proprietors Ford and Corbin recently improved the mill. losses estimated at 30 000 to 35 000 with most insured. No injuries reported though nearby dwellings caught fire. The cause remains uncertain and several locals, including Miss AN Ford and Miss Lichtenberger, returned from New Orleans last week.
