Dispute Over Coney Island Names Ends With Settlement

Army joins in search for Hoss
Pittsburgh authorities said Stanley B. Hoss Jr. and a woman and child believed held by him remained missing. The FBI deployed Army units and helicopters in the hunt for the 26-year-old from Turtle Run, Pa., who escaped custody Sept. 11 and is wanted for a Sept. 19 police officer shooting. Also missing are Linda Peugeot and her 2-year-old Lori Mae, abducted at a Cumberland shopping center after Hoss allegedly hijacked their car. MacLennan said investigators have evidence Hoss was in Peugeot's car and may have changed license plates or hidden the vehicle.

Columbia Gas of Pennsylvania can pass a six mill rise in the utility gross receipts tax to about 267,800 customers across 26 western counties starting Wednesday. State and city police are probing a criminal assault after two 1 year old girls from Struthers and Youngstown were taken by two men in a Youngstown restaurant. The car headed toward New Castle on U S 422, one girl escaped at a service station to call her father. The other girl fled later at an E Washington Street service station after a 3 am stop.
