Estes Favored by GOP Senators in Estes Farm Scheme Charge

Two Republican senators allege the Agriculture Department favored Billie Sol Estes and aided his cotton allotment fraud scheme. The Senate committee report quotes Mundt and Curtis as saying officials aided a plan to harvest gains from land sales and leased land in Texas Alabama Georgia Oklahoma and Texas during 1960 61. The panel’s conclusions were mild and did not accuse anyone of fraud or propose discipline.

Johnson Likely Paris Peace Trip If Elected

President Johnson plans a Paris trip in November or December to present a world peace program to European allies and to meet Khrushchev if possible. Red China on verge of atomic test say officials

Group Opposes Sunday Liquor Sales in Taverns

Shenango Presbytery, meeting in Sharpsville, voted unanimously to campaign against Sunday alcohol sales in taverns. The committee led by Dr. Harold H.
