Police hold Maud Hicks as a material witness. a 12 gauge double barrel shotgun with two loaded shells was found by Andrew McCutcheon beside a fence near the Keystone Lawrence Transfer company. Hicks says she and Cox were friends and saw no one with a shotgun. she heard a deafening noise and saw Miss Spear lying on the floor with red on her dress. The story continues on page two.
