The Republicans push to keep the flexibility so rates can be changed between major tariff bills while Democrats shift toward repeal. A compromise would strip presidential power and let Congress guide tariff affairs anew.
International News Service reports Mexicos Hidalgo state suffered a catastrophic flood when the Metlajtlan river surged after torrential rains. Upward of a hundred people feared dead, hundreds homeless, and about 75 million cubic meters of water inundated river banks within 24 hours.
