Hobel guilty in Ellwood City armed robberies and chase
A jury in Lawrence County found 37 year old Shawn Hobel guilty of three counts each of robbery and theft in connection with December 2016 robberies at Market 24 East Washington Street Unimart Main Street Market West Pittsburg. He was also convicted of aggravated assault terroristic threats unlawful restraint reckless endangerment five counts and fleeing and eluding for a 50 mile multi county chase that ended on Interstate 376. A police shooting left Hobel injured. the gun was later found to be a toy according to reports. Hobel represented himself at trial.

New Castle Council Denies AT&T Use Request
A conditional use request from an engineering firm for AT&T was denied 2 to 2 at the New Castle City Council. Ed Block for GPD Group presented the plan in caucus, but the council split with Rich ard Beshero and William Pan ella voting yes and Tim Fulkerson and Paul Stefa no. Councilman Tom Smith was absent. The solicitor said two votes for and two against means denial. AT&T aims to improve coverage in the area, with the proposed location near a multistory building.
