A Croton Avenue money scam prompted a bomb scare near New Castle Area School District administration offices. Police evacuated the building as a precaution while emergency units secured the area. the scammer promised $18 million after the victim sent funds. The Allegheny County Bomb Squad cleared only the immediate area. The superintendent notified parents the children were safe.
