Four More Typhoid Cases Reported in City
Four new typhoid cases were reported to Director of Health Horner. The patients include Raymond VanDeman of 513 Highland avenue, Mrs W E Waller of 150 Butler avenue, 10 year old Dollie Zeigler of 671 Carson street, and three year old Leah Pregenter of 182 Chestnut street. Horner remains confident the health department can control the situation.

Experts to Solve Steel Rail Problem in New York Meeting
Thirty representatives from rail and steel interests met in New York to discuss steel rails and Bessemer process issues. A new rail type satisfactory to railroads and manufacturers is anticipated. Pricing will depend on ingot cropping and phosphorus content, with higher prices for more ingot discarded and less phosphorus. Some rails have been offered at 33 dollars per ton, requiring 25 percent ingot discard and phosphorus cap of .06 percent, with price increases for each extra 4 percent discard.

Westminster college elects three new directors
Three new board members were elected to Westminster college during the First Synod of the West session in the Third U. P. church. Rev. W. J. Snodgrass of West Middlesex and Rev. E. M. Milligan of Sewickley joined for one year, with J. B. Porter of Pittsburgh re-elected to another term. The synod adjourned after routine business and did not decide the next meeting place. The delegates thanked the Third congregation and Pastor Rev. J. Elmer Campbell for hospitality.

Quarrel Ends in Local Assault Case
Tony Maine Armit Rosse and Mike Lombard faced an aggravated assault and battery charge after a dispute sparked by a child rolling a wagon wheel near a house. The alderman acquitted on the first count and found the defendants guilty of assault and battery. William Watt, who was knocked down and beaten, was represented by Harvey E. Martin with Michael Conti as interpreter for the defendants.
