Dewberry Kills Big Groundhog Near Edenburg
Walter Dewberry of South Green Wood Avenue, a night ticket agent on the Lake Erie railroad, killed a massive groundhog weighing 12 pounds near Edenburg yesterday afternoon. He fired from about 200 yards away, the ball striking the neck and killing the animal instantly. Dewberry was briefly detained by the Edenburg district constable to show his hunter license. He also reported many rabbits and fox squirrels in the area.

The three masted schooner Nellie F Saw yer bound from New York to Calais Maine struck Pollock Rip Slew early today and sank with the crew escaping in boats. They rowed to the lightship and were rescued by Captain Joseph Kelly of the Monomony life saving station who brought them ashore.
