Garbage spill blocks U.S. 224 as truck dumps load in Mahoning
A tractor-trailer bound for Browning Ferris landfill left U.S. 224 near Tony's Lounge in Mahoning Township, dumping its load of trash and blocking the highway. Driver Rhett R. Campion, 34, from New Jersey, escaped with minor injuries after rolling onto its side at about 3:45 a.m. Cleanup involved PennDOT, Mahoning Township police, BFI landfill crews, and emergency management, with disposal later coordinated at the landfill.
