Narrow escape as hand car misses fast passenger train

A Monongahela railroad wreck near Bridgeport at 3 am killed two men, Samuel Miller and William Gately, both 25, as a caboose and one coke car burned. Government condemns Greer and Kirk site for new post building
Deputy United States District Attorney J M Miller of Pittsburg led condemnation proceedings for the federal government over the Greer and Kirk property at North and Mercer streets chosen months ago as the site for a $100000 government building. Appraisers fixed the value at 27500 and the circuit court in Pittsburg sanctioned the condemnation, allowing work to begin at once.

Fly Wheel Burst At Atlantic Furnace
A Friday morning accident at the Atlantic furnace saw the big fly wheel burst and smash through two story high brick walls. Several men were nearby but only the engineer sustained injuries from debris, though he was bruised. Fire department aided by pumping water to keep boilers running with another engine in use.
