UPI reports that Barry Goldwater Jr., a California Republican congressman, and his aide Bill McClain survived a late Friday plane crash in Van Nuys after hitting power lines and crashing into a residential area. They were treated and released from Valley Hospital. The FAA attributed an engine stoppage to possible fuel exhaustion as the cause, and Goldwater planned to return to Washington early next week.
