Marion Ohio September 19 four year old Viola Pine died in a hospital as the fifth victim of a grade crossing crash near Agosta. The Big Four Southwestern Limited struck an automobile killing Louella Pine Leonard Pine and Mr and Mrs Robert Richardson and injuring others returning from a farm. Lawrence Pine husband of Louella and father of Leonard and Viola witnessed the tragedy.
James Arthur Moore 25 admits to killing his father in law Joseph Lucskay 55 and brother in law Joseph Lucskay Jr. 27 in a family feud at a Rush Run area mine. His wife accompanied and aided him, claiming self defense against an attack, as deputies are dispatched to investigate.
The Free Methodist Oil City Conference closes Sunday with worship services as the program winds down. Bishop L. R. Maston and the stationing committee will announce new pastoral appointments for the coming conference year this evening at the Arlington avenue church in New Castle. The Women’s Missionary Society holds its annual election of officers Friday.

Dr. James V. Sparks an American World War aviator in Paris rejected a Madrid plan to fly a French plane to Madrid. Sparks noted the offer was circulated to other U.S. aviators and doubted any American accepted it.
The American Legion begins its 18th annual convention in Cleveland with thousands arriving for opening activities. Committees including national emblem and national finance meet after the resolutions panel reviews about 600 measures from state departments and others. Meetings continue tomorrow to prepare legislation for next week’s convention.
