Trial in 1988 homicide continues in Pennsylvania

Regis Brown or Rex Knight confessed to shooting Bryce Kenneth Tompkins to stop him from talking after a burglary witnessed at the New Castle VFW. A 45 minute video of the confession was shown to a mixed gender jury in Lawrence County Court. Tompkins, 54, was found dead in Neshannock Creek near El Rio Beach on December 26, 1988, with his body recovered in Hickory Township. Brown, 62, a former Erie County resident, is on trial this week for the murder.
