Two people were hurt when a car struck two parked vehicles on Rose Ave at 8 36 p m. William Sankey 21 of 227 Park Ave was treated for a cut above the eye and chest pain. Russell Kiley 32 of 1440 Butler Rd suffered scrapes to the kidney area and elbows. About 2300 dollars in damage reported. Sankey to be cited for reckless driving.
About 180 Lawrence County Democrats are expected at a fund raising dinner on October 16 at Troggio's Restaurant. County chairman Ralph Audino says a state government representative will be guest speaker. Social hour starts at 6 p.m. with dinner at 7 p.m. Local candidates will be introduced.

Henry Stevenson a 56 year old grocer in North Philadelphia was beaten and stabbed behind his store counter. Police fear juvenile gang violence and robbery was the motive as his wallet was missing. He fought with a heavy meat slicer knocked from the counter. knives were found near the body.
