London report says Kissinger wrapped up three days of talks with Soviet leaders over a potential five billion dollar U S Russian trade deal. He then flew to London for talks with British leaders on Europe and international issues.
Heavy rains swollen streams across Central and Southwestern Pennsylvania trigger flash floods. In Indiana County Lee Muley of Marion Center drowned crossing Pine Run Creek as residents fled rising water. Young Foley was swept and died near Pine Creek. his body recovered early today. Schools in Marion Center closed and about 60 families evacuated from Cherry Tree Dixonville Clymer and Coakport as Routes 119 286 and smaller roads flooded. A flood watch was issued for the region with 4 inches of rain reported in two hours. showers and thunderstorms expected to continue.
The New Castle Area School Board OKd borrowing $350000 at 3 percent for five years from First National Bank of Lawrence County to fund repairs at George Washington School. The vote was 7 to 1 with Larry DeBlasio opposed and Albert Russo absent.
Caroline Kennedy, daughter of John and Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis, will be chaperoned during her first year at Concord Academy in Concord, Massachusetts. Secret Service agents assigned to guard her moved to the Concord area.
A two car crash on Sampson Street this morning left one woman hospitalized and two other family members in the emergency room at Jameson Memorial Hospital. The woman's identity and the full extent of injuries were not released at press time.

Diana Canedo Carrion a young Pueblo Mexico girl kidnapped last month was found bound and gagged in a Biloxi motel after her father paid a $105000 ransom. FBI special agent Hier F Linberg said Steven Ivan Ross an American citizen faces kidnapping charges for the Aug 21 1972 abduction. The victim's father Raphael Canedo Denitez identified the child and held custody in New Orleans.

A would be stickup man was shot and killed late Wednesday as he tried to rob a Hills Department Store in Lincoln Knolls plaza, while an employee escorted by a Mahoning County deputy to a bank was confronted by three men. The deputy fired his revolver, killing the pistol wielding robber. The other two men fled. The gunman was not identified, with fingerprint checks planned.
