Quincy. Sept. 14. Harry Collins 18 of Braintree is recovering from a left side appendix operation at City hospital after surgeons first opened the right side and found nothing. They then made a second incision and located the appendix.
Harrisburg state relief parcels to needy families have caused a big rise in parcel post mail locally. Superintendent David B Thomas reports deliveries rising through the week as Harrisburg shipments began about a week ago.
Twenty two Scranton drivers were indicted today for drunken driving by the Lackawanna county grand jury. Last week the panel ignored manslaughter and other traffic charges against twenty three motorists from outside Scranton.
Rescuers in Panama search the jungle for a Malek line transport plane wrecked yesterday. Eight believed dead include two Americans, with pilots and three passengers possibly alive though wounded. Indian runners reported five bodies. officials fear all eight perished.
