They also pledge to oppose further cuts in rehabilitation funds and form a new committee to advocate veterans' interests in Washington while President Hoover faces criticism over the Bonus March.

Ralph Atterholt 27 of Sharon Pennsylvania, second gang member convicted of first degree murder in Marshal Vasbinder slaying, denied new trial, sentenced to die December 28 at Ohio Penitentiary. Co-defendant Tony Rotunno, 30, also faces death by December 23. Vasbinder was killed July 5 during a store robbery attempt. another gang member Owen Hunter died in a later police clash.
In Corry Pennsylvania a three vehicle wreck last night left James Mulhern a 55 year old Corry police officer dead and John Flanigan, Corry police chief, in critical condition. Claude Porter justice of the city and Dr. Weed of Union City were injured along with drivers Brown and Vancpps and a truck driver in the collision near Corry.
The 24 hour period ended this morning shows a maximum of 88 and a minimum of 52 with trace precipitation. River stage stands at 3.4 feet. A year ago the maximum was 94 and the minimum 68 with no precipitation.
Fire destroyed the large home of Frank Younkin at Plaingrove near the Plaingrove Road intersection after spreading from the barn area. Mr and Mrs Younkin were milking when flames broke out. a gas explosion cause was not yet determined. Insurance reportedly covered part of the loss.
The choir was placed and the platform laid as workers continued tabernacle construction. Fewer workers today than Tuesday, with more expected this afternoon. Evangelistic services start Sunday September 18 led by Rev. P. W. Philpott with A. W. McKee directing music.
Miss Santa Graf aged 20 of 128 East 86th Street New York City is recovering in Jameson Memorial Hospital from serious burns suffered in an automobile crash weeks ago. The wreck also injured William Berger a New York theatrical agent his seven year old daughter June, and Mrs Adele Berger, wife of the dead man, and Walter Ehlbeck driver and owner of the car. Mrs Berger left the hospital after a few days.
The Chamber directors will meet at The Castleton at noon on Thursday. A special committee is investigating the condition of the Community Chest appeal. The committee has met with three agencies to discuss the appeal.
In Boston at South Station two bandits entered the New Haven Railroad cashier’s office, cut the wire grill to a cage, and escaped with about $20,000. An alarm sounded and police alerted all stations. state police described a suspect and noted a possible automobile getaway.
Bentleyville Pennsylvania loses its police force after the council dismissed Chief Frank Wertz amid charges of misconduct. The action comes as the village cites economy and follows a council meeting where a testifying woman accused the chief of improper relations.

London reports Allied Debtors may offer the United States a cash payment of 1 billion dollars as final settlement of war debts. If accepted the settlement would amount to about ten cents on the dollar based on the original 11 billion dollar debt.

With an ultimatum for the senior class to stay out until eight football squad members suspended for hazing freshmen are reinstated, the strike continues with planned street parades and demonstrations twice daily. Over 150 pupils out. superintendent says no further action this term. Nine students who carried the demonstration to Rochester high school are arrested for disorderly conduct.
Pittsburgh dispatch reports two Turtle Creek high school teachers faced charges of maintaining a slot machine in their parlor on the William Perin Highway. W Howard Smith of Forest Hills and Allen Bailer of Turtle Creek argued the device returned candy for each nickel, with arraignment set before Justice William Wukinson.
Optimistic reports of increased steel foundry orders emerge from the Steel Founders Society of America meeting in Pittsburgh. Arthur Simonson argues for sound competitive policies to curb price-cutting harming the industry while Granville P. Rogers says the worst mood has passed amid stronger railcar demand and improved banking.
