South Viet Nam election shows strong turnout despite attacks
After a high turnout of over 80 percent, South Viet Nam completed an election for 117 delegates to a constituent assembly. The Viet Cong tried sabotage, killing 30 and wounding 167 on election day, but security held. The military government aims for a strong central state and a presidential vote next March if the assembly finishes its constitution within three months. The United States also launched a large air raid against oil depots and missile sites in North Viet Nam.

County Buys First Parcel For County Park System
