New Castle Business College Opens Dormitory with Week of Orientation
Six new teachers join the faculty as the fall quarter begins at New Castle Business College. A new women dormitory at 322 Mast Street houses the Delhi Phi T sorority and expands dorm facilities to seven. Orientation Week welcomes over 100 freshmen with campus activities including a YWCA outing, picnics, dances, and social events.

Jets destroy spans of mile long bridge in North Vietnam
U S jets armed with laser guided bombs swept over Hanoi and destroyed three spans of the mile long Paul Youmer bridge linking the capital with Haiphong. Three other spans were damaged as 2 000 pound bombs hit underpinnings. The strikes came on May 10 and 11 as waves of bomber jets attacked targets around Hanoi. North Vietnamese forces pulled back from Tren Phuoc district near Da Nang after heavy fighting. In other actions, U S bombers hit Bien Hoa and Bastogne Base areas with several missions. Casualties included 29 Americans wounded at Bien Hoa and clashes near Thanh An in the Central Highlands.

Bermuda police chief shot dead in home invasion

Railroad strike threatens US Steel Mills in Monongahela Valley
Railroad workers in Pittsburg area walked out when wage contract talks failed for maintenance staff. The 40 mile LS Steel line could idle US Steel mills and hundreds of steelworkers. Clerical workers had accepted a three year contract earlier, with maintenance staff still in dispute.
