Striking employees of Pennsylvania Engineering Corp. voted 126 to 2 to reject the latest management offer. Local 1259 UAWA chairman Frank Minice said the strike would continue at the S. Jefferson Street plant. A negotiation is set for 11 a.m. Monday at the Holiday Inn. the strike began August 31 when the contract expired.
About 9 000 fans watched New Castle High win its 12th straight game 19-0 over Cleveland Shaw in sweltering 70 degree conditions. Union blanked Slippery Rock 12-0 in Tri County action while Mercer edged Wilmington 6-0. The day featured Midwestern Conference tests with Hopewell versus Ambridge on Ambridge field and Cent Catholic 25 Aliquippa 14 as potential title contenders.
