Pa Newc reports a large window cleaning job finished in the city restoring clean glass in all public schools ahead of the new session. The work covered George Washington Junior and Benjamin Franklin Junior Highs and district grade schools.
Don Moyle and Cecil A. Allen left Japan aiming for Seattle in a radioless, reconditioned plane to claim a $25,000 prize for the first nonstop Trans-Pacific flight. They carried fuel for forty seven hours, hoped to reach Seattle in about forty hours, and were sighted over Cape Erimo en route. If they land within ten miles of Seattle they will also be eligible for the Tokyo Asahi prize.

C R Cummings Inc of Cleveland won the Pymatuning Dam contract in the Shenango valley with a bid of 339,567 by the Water and Power Resources Board of the Department of Forests and Waters. The project has a 1,500,000 appropriation and work could start in 30 days.

Copenhagen reports the polar submarine Nautilus under Sir Hubert Wilkins arrived at Long Year City Spitzbergen at 1 PM after a perilous Arctic voyage. Messages say the submarine was substantially damaged since leaving Spitzbergen.
Capitulation ends a revolt that left between fifty and one hundred dead and nearly sparked civil war. The mutineers surrendered their fleet at Coquimbo harbor with the battle cruiser De La Torre turning to federal troops at Tongay. Other ships were to be handed over at Valparaiso and other ports as court martial proceedings began.
