United Press International reports police in Fort Lauderdale Camden Hartford and Dayton imposed curfews to curb disorder after nights of looting, firebombings and street fighting. More than 112 arrests. 57 curfew violations. A 16 year old was shot during a Gary Indiana disturbance as authorities held suspects.

Fire Causes $3000 Damage at Croton Ave Apartment
A fire at 1113 Croton Ave yesterday evening caused about $3000 in damage to an apartment building owned by James Procopio. The Morgan Auto Paint and Supplies store occupied the first floor and a beauty shop on the second floor. no injuries were reported. Firemen listed a short in wiring as the probable cause.

Narick files federal suit to regain steelworkers post
Emil Narick, former candidate for president of the United Steelworkers Union, sues in federal court to be restored to general counsel and to overturn election results. He alleges I W Abel demoted him after his candidacy announcement. Abel won by about 70 000 votes. Fireman Raper Rescues Worker From Building Fall
Wheeling West Virginia Edwin Raper a former Continental Football League cornerback used an aerial ladder to rescue Albert Brubach a 160 pound construction worker who clung to a metal strip on a downtown insurance building. Brubach held on for 20 minutes before being saved while fellow worker John Markiewicz fell and was badly injured. Brubach treated for facial bruises and hand injuries. Raper weighs 18 pounds and is 5 feet 19 inches tall.

Five Teens Escape Philadelphia Youth Center
