Day of Caring brings smiles to United Way event
On a day dedicated to construction and cleaning more than 125 volunteers from 13 area businesses joined in the United Way of Lawrence County Day of Caring. Projects included painting at Camp Elliott aiding the Rescue Mission yard work at the Women’s Shelter and computer training at the New Castle Community Center. Gayle Young noted the strong turnout and charged mood while County Commissioner Charles Adamo praised meeting good people and doing good work as planning for the 1994-95 campaign continues.
