Arrowhead Hunter Finds Four Hundred Artifacts

James E. Aiken of Harbor Edinburg Road has spent about five years collecting arrowheads mainly in spring river searches. He has found roughly 400 pieces, a hobby featured on the Suburban Page today.

Kennedy Tubular strike ends with new three year pact

The 54 day walkout by Local 1671 at Kennedy Tubular Products Co ends after a first bargaining session since July 23. A three year contract ratified by 22 workers includes wage hikes, a company funded pension, improved insurance and vacation, plus more holidays. One Cascade St shift will return to work.

Tax bute collection date set

Pennsylvanians will see a 2.3 percent state income tax deducted from paychecks starting by October 1, with advice to request accelerated withholdings to avoid a larger April 15 bill. Berlin signing of Big Four accord postponed over German text

West Berlin postponed the signing ceremony as four power working groups failed to agree on the German language version of the Big Four Berlin accord. Local mother donates kidney to son in Cleveland Clinic transplant

Tommy Sipe a 17 year old of Neshannock Falls is alive with his mother's kidney after a transplant at the Cleveland Clinic. His mother Edie Mae Cross Sipe and he are reported in satisfactory condition while his father Gene remains in Cleveland. Neighbors organize funds via the Walmo Branch of Lawrence Savings to aid the family amid travel and medical costs.

Pay hikes approved for Bell Pennsylvania workers

The Office of Emergency Preparedness authorized pay raises for 22 500 Bell Telephone Co. of Pennsylvania employees statewide. The increases total over 250 000 dollars weekly and stem from July negotiations with FTW PTG and the Pennsylvania Telephone Guild.
