Lawrence county farmers contribute wheat for Near East Relief to aid starving people in the near east countries. About 200 bushels were pledged and will be received at three designated stations the Pennsylvania freight station in the city Dr Frederick Taylor's farm at Pulaski and Volant mills at Volant.
George Douds of Ellwood City was sentenced by Judge Emery this morning for selling liquor without a license. He must pay a $25 fine plus costs and serve two 60 day terms in the county jail.

Prisoners, described as foreigners using English names, remain silent. A suspect named George Stewart claims Detroit residence with wife and four children and is suspected as lead organizer.

Delbert R. Burry, about 30, a driver for People's Ice, was killed on Highland Avenue near Grant Street when his wagon ran away after a harness break. The team failed to control the wagon at a curve, striking property and overturning. Burry was thrown against a telephone pole and died en route to Shenango Valley Hospital. One helper, Francis Frey, escaped with minor injuries. Continued G4 Page Two.
In Pittsburgh on October 11 robbers broke into Roma Bottling works, rear of 1630 Our Way, removing a 400 pound safe containing between 46,000 and 7,000 dollars. They hauled it away in the bottling company's truck. Police found the safe on a hillside elsewhere in the city. another safe had been blown open with contents taken. The truck has not been rotated yet.
Marie Wilson of Shaw street, about 11, was struck by an auto driven by a Beyer doctor near Highland avenue public school. Howard Richard picked her up and took her to Shehanga Valley hospital where she received care and will likely recover. The car license was 146-703 and the driver accompanied her to the hospital. The accident happened as she stepped from the curb into the street.
The city health department orders fumigation of the entire Thaddeus Stevens school tonight due to six new scarlet fever cases across grades 2 C 4 8 B and others. Grade 1 A remains closed for the week as the illness containment continues. Three unreported family cases three weeks ago are blamed for the outbreak, while city reports list September welfare and police outlays.
