Smarrelli firm grows with 3-D molding drive and local ties
Joe Smarrelli Sr. built Progress industry from a small 1999 South Side shop with three employees into a 25-employee operation aided by family leadership and a 25,000 square foot plant. The venture partners with local firms on 3-D mold samples for beverage bottling while expanding cooling designs, 3-D modeling, and industry collaboration. The project complements Nick’s Auto Body expansion set to open another New Castle location. Lawrence County Enterprise Zone funds help renovate the former Berner building, boosting local manufacturing and employment opportunities.
