More than 70 New Castle businessmen met to form what will likely be the Businessmen’s Association of New Castle. R. A. McKinney was named president and J. J. Dean as first vice president. The group aims to regulate credits, influence local and state legislation, and reduce nuisances like trading stamps while adopting Erie’s constitution with modifications. Bills estimates and payrolls dominated the finance committee of councils last night. Members Stevenson McCready Rae and Rigby presided and finished in time to hear most of House's address to the Business Men's association in the common council chamber.

A debate on which was greatest Abraham's faith or Job's patience concluded with faith needing patience, and three new members joined. A spelling bee is planned next, with committees named for Hustlers Social and Press agent Trever J John.
The funeral for Jennie Kimberly Williamson took place Friday afternoon at her mother's home 361 West Washington Street. Rev. C S Brooks of First Christian Church led services with Harris quartet providing music. Pallbearers included Frank B Carson Paul Moseley B F Butler James Teets John White B H Carson Frank Wilson A D Mornes Lewis Moseley John G Jones Charles Slaugenhaup and Ford Fulkerson. Flower girls Emma Fulkerson and Ruth Moseley attended. The service drew a large crowd of family and friends.
New Castle has signed outfielder Tom McCrossin to join next year’s team. McCrossin hit .308 with a .965 fielding mark in recent seasons, stands 6 feet 1 inch and weighs 170 pounds, previously with Altoona in 1906 and Patton in the Interstate league, contract filed with President A C Hyde.
George Heckert of the Sixth ward joins fellow board members in suing The News for 10000 damages over coverage of the board’s handling of a high school architect selection. The claim mirrors suits by other members challenging criticism of the board’s conduct.

Ruth Elizabeth Boyd, daughter of Mr and Mrs Adam Boyd of 177 West Falls street, died last night after several days of lung congestion. Funeral services are set for Sunday at 4 p m with interment in Oak Park cemetery.
