Tornadoes Strike Across Carolina as Weekend Storm Toll Rises
A weekend storm system spawned tornadoes across 11 states from Texas to Ohio, killing 26 people and injuring hundreds. In North Carolina an early- day twister in Orange County killed an adult and a 2-year-old. Mississippi suffered the highest toll with 15 deaths including a Brandon father and son and two Cub Scouts. Georgia, Tennessee, Kentucky, and Indiana also reported fatalities. Rescuers used dogs to search wreckage as homes, churches, and businesses were leveled or damaged and interstate traffic was snarled by debris and wrecks.

West Pittsburg man dies in Shenango Township crash
Timothy A. Trott, 20, of 14th Street, was pronounced dead at the scene after a one car crash at Savannah and Savannah Gardner roads in Shenango Township. Driver Kelly Haybarger, 19, and passenger Robert DeVito Jr., 20, were treated at St. Francis Hospital and released. The vehicle struck a utility pole around 5:30 a.m. and was destroyed.
