Bus drivers and mechanics approve two year union contract
The 25 members of Local 89 Amalgamated Transit Union approved a two year pact with the New Castle Area Transit Authority retroactive to January 1 1972. Wages rise to 3.27 3.44 for drivers and 3.27 3.45 3.63 for first class mechanics with pension 10 cents employer and 5 cents worker plus pension plan. Negotiations began December 1971 under 6.5 percent Pay Board guidelines. One day work stoppage occurred April 10.

Rescue crews hurry to aid stricken Coast Guard vessel Jarvis
