Hillsville students move to new Mohawk Area School
Hillsville elementary pupils, 323 students, occupy 15 rooms in the 54 year old Mohawk Area Elementary building two months early as cold disrupted the old site. Water shortages, boiler failures and a leaky furnace forced the move while construction reaches about 94 percent completion. Students ride buses from homes to the Hillsville site then to the new building near the high school for classes and hot lunches.
