A Mahoningtown couple pleaded guilty to stealing hundreds of thousands from a church. Sentenced by Judge Nancy Lowry, they face prison terms and restitution totaling about 471066.65, with compensation to Ins Co and the church. Assets including house, jewelry, and vehicles are to be seized or liquidated to satisfy the judgment.
The St Wits Chur en members yesterday forgave a couple who robbed the congregation during a Tumaru lifestyle event. August Sanilfin, 52, received eight years to five years in prison with eight-year probation. Kimberly Santilio drew one to two years plus three years probation. Both must pay prosecution costs and restitution of 371,962.65 to the Roman Catholic Diocese of Pittsburgh and Federal Insurance. The pastor said the community forgives but supports legal sanctions.
Lawrence County corrections officer Gian Eramk Lucchini 41 of New Castle faces charges of stealing an inmate’s gold ring diamonds three old rope chains and a gold medal from safekeeping at the jail. Police found the items at a pawn shop and investigators are pursuing the case as theft by deception. Lucchini has worked at the jail over a decade and was ordered suspended without pay while the case proceeds.
