Two armed men robbed a Scott Oil Co. service station in Wilmington Township, escaping with 130 dollars in a late Saturday heist. Police described two young men about 6 feet and 5 feet 8 inches tall wearing nylon stockings over their faces, one armed with a shotgun and the other with a hunting knife. The workers, including attendant Larry Wirl, 18, reported the holdup and the lights were turned off as the trio fled toward New Wilmington.

Brooklyn trio jailed in plot against Nixon
An Arab immigrant from Yemen and his two shipping clerk sons were jailed in New York on 100000 bond each for criminal conspiracy to murder President-elect Nixon and possession of dangerous weapons. Prosecutors said the men may have plotted from abroad and linked their plan to Kennedy’s assassination. The three, Ahamad Rageh Namer age 43 and his sons Hussein 20 Abdo Ahmad 19, faced arraignment in Brooklyn Criminal Court with a Tuesday grand jury date set.
