Driver Escapes Injury After Downtown Crash
A car ran out of control near East Street in downtown, struck two light poles, a tree and a fire hydrant on Washington Street, then stopped. The driver, John E. Jimm of 12 Winter Road, was cited for driving too fast for conditions. wallet suffered a minor cut. Vehicle was heavily damaged with no serious injuries.

McCracken tops Pratt for county judge seat
Lawrence County voters chose Republican Glenn McCracken Jr. over Democrat Ralph D. Pratt by about 5,000 votes.
