Unofficial returns at five this morning show 8205 for Sunday movies and 8172 against from 34 precincts, a 33 vote majority. Most wards align, except ward eight precinct one, which posted 763 for and 37 against. An official count may confirm the result.
With 44 of 90 precincts reporting at 5 am Republicans Bolinger and Cotton led, while Democrat Hannon trailed. Bolinger and Cotton appear elected to two commissioner posts, with Hannon resuming earlier service. other candidates Woods Hunt Yoho trailed.
Early unofficial results from Lawrence county show a razor thin race for judge. In 66 of 90 precincts Braham leads Powers by a small margin, with a potential overall majority around 300 votes depending on remaining tallies.
New Castle voters reject a $1,000 plant bond issue for a municipal electric distributor by a crushing margin. With 34 precincts, only four missing, 7 664 against to 2 923 for the bond, showing overwhelming opposition to the proposal.
Citizens across most of the city rejected a bond issue with lopsided margins in many wards. The Consumers League backed the proposal and organized a ballot measure while an opposing group campaigned intensely over the past weeks.

Hillsville police investigate the wounding of 17 year old Sam DeBernardo son of Mr and Mrs John DeBernardo at 8 35 am after he returned from milking the cow with his right hand shattered by a shotgun blast. He told parents he was shot by unknown persons. He was taken to Jameson Memorial hospital for treatment.
Republicans secured decisive victories in county offices across the region as ballots tallied. Organizing groups praised turnout and party infrastructure driving wins in multiple local races.
Early returns from 13 to 23 precincts show Republicans leading for prothonotary, treasurer, controller, and coroner. John A. Edgar heads 5 560 to 2 491. Joseph H. Hartland 3 817 to 1 339. Frank W. Hill 2x Bert Sisley. Orville Potter 2 462 to 802. Prohibition and Socialist votes minimal.
Stanley Graham 21 of Northeast Pa and a Slippery Rock Teachers College freshman died when their motorcycle lost control on Foltz Hill eight miles north of Butler. His brother John a college senior was seriously injured. Both were sons of Justice of Peace Gus Graham.
Early tallies from 14 of 34 precincts show Charles E. McGrath leading Carl W. Haufler for mayor of New Castle by a wide margin. McGrath, a florist of 139 Euclid Avenue, pursues a sizable victory likely over 3000 once all precincts report.
Florence Goodrich, once linked to the trunk murder of 11 year old Lillian Gallaher, was cleared of complicity. The accessory after the fact charge was dismissed, ending a four month link to the crime as she prepared to move on with life.
Mr and Mrs Walter D Hervey of Bradford return home after visiting Mr Herveys aunt Mrs J P Hervey at 307 Boyles Avenue.
Sharon, Pa. Nov. 6 George H. Rowley Democrat led Republican T. A. Cochran for Mercer County judge with about half the precincts reporting. Other Republican county offices appeared assured. Also, Sunday movies were approved by the vote in Sharon.
Wilkes Barre Pa November 5 Pennsylvania's first off year election casualty was reported when County Detective John Dempsey Plymouth was waylaid and shot near his home while returning from a Republican rally. He was taken to Mercy hospital by Superior Court Judge Arthur James with a fair condition. Authorities suspect violent political antagonism and have placed other Republican leaders under guard to prevent further incidents.
Harrisburg Nov 6 The State Department of Health issued a warning to proprietors of year round roadside stands to maintain sanitary standards. The department notes patronage has shifted to all year stands and emphasizes strict regulation adherence. The secretary of health says most proprietors are cooperative but a minority require warning against insanitary conditions.
Early city precinct returns show Rube McKibben leading Joseph W. Hahn by a wide margin for the city treasurer post. McKibben, a Republican, has not lost a single reported precinct and tallies 3,172 votes to Hahn's 1,421 across nine precincts.
FAIRBANKS Alaska Nov 5 Fate of Jack Herman Northern Air Transport Company pilot and five passengers missing since Saturday was locked in the icy Yukon river wilderness. Herman departed Dawson at noon bound for Fairbanks following the same air lane as Arthur Hines and three passengers who disappeared August 19 with no trace found.
With 22 of 34 precincts reported, J Myron Doc Rice leads the council contest in the Second Ward as a Democrat, while James Leon Fink of the Republican Party holds second place. Rice’s large lead appears insurmountable, with Davies and McCormick trailing. analysts view Rice’s win as a personal popularity surge rather than a party victory.

The election board of the second precinct of the Seventh ward reported its full count on the $1,500,000 electric bond issue at 7:20 p m. The tally: Yes 62 No 49. Five minutes later the first precinct reported 176 against 146 for the issue.
