Five hundred coal miners returned to work in Mines 2 and 5 of the Sharon Coal and Limestone Company near Leesburg ending a weeks long miners holiday. E W Filer says mines resumed on a normal schedule with sheriff Johnston noting no disorder as a few stragglers expect to rejoin by Wednesday.
Lawrence County faces a heavy turnout on Tuesday, November 7, with 34,864 registered voters split 30,386 Republicans and 4,478 Democrats. Ballots include sheriff, district attorney, treasurer, school posts, and 12 state constitutional amendments plus the 21st amendment repeal and Sunday sports.

Laura Kulinski a 16 year old of Ranney Ave South New Castle was killed when her brother Henry eight and Chester Zawadski misfired a 12 gauge shotgun at 3 15 in a home on Southview Ave. The weapon discharged as Charles Kulinski attempted to lower it. The girl was seated with her brothers when struck tearing away the right side of her face and hand. She died en route to New Castle Hospital.

Barree Pennsylvania November 6 insurgent miners press their challenge to the United Mine Workers of America for supremacy in the northern anthracite field.
