Wreck Involving Olean Owl Sends Five New Castle Men To Oil City
Five New Castle men employed on the Pennsylvania's Olean Owl freight escaped a wreck just outside Oil City at 7 10 this morning. Brakeman C G Erickson of Mahoningtown suffered a broken arm and other injuries and is in Oil City hospital. The double headed train left New Castle at midnight and runs to Oil City and back daily. Both crews jumped to avoid collision with a Lake Shore freight at high speed. Erickson was the only one badly hurt.

Woman Dragged by Horse Killed in Mercer County
Mrs. Pierce Davis of Findley Township died after a pasture accident when a colt bolted while her husband tried to catch another. Her neck was broken and skull injuries left her with moments of breathing after her husband reached her. She was the youngest daughter of Mr and Mrs Alex Heazlett and survived by her husband and several children and siblings.

Mrs. Elizabeth Magee widow of George Magee died Tuesday after six days of pneumonia. Funeral held Thursday at her son John W. Magee’s residence in Washington township with Rev. Clark officiating. Aged 76, she was born in Lawrence County and lived mostly here. Survived by six children Mary Moyer Anna Moyer Thomas M. Magee John W. Magee and Emma at home. Barber survives gas explosion and street run
Louis DiCapria, barber at the north end of the Jefferson street bridge, narrowly escaped when gasoline ignited while he tried to light a fire in his shop. T. J. Englehart from Sheridan avenue stopped him, extinguishing the flames after DiCapria’s clothing burned and hair singed. Englehart suffered a minor burn to a hand. A hydro electric plant is being installed at Fort Yellowstone, Wye, to supply park light and power.

Tragic Death Brings Home Harry Lozier From Tampa
J I Lozier of Smiley station Wayne township arrived in Ellwood with the remains of his son 24 year old Harry Lozier who died in Tampa Florida on October 30 from paralysis of the brain. The body was taken to Nelsons undertaking rooms and then to the fathers home. Funeral in Ellwood Baptist church Saturday at 2 pm conducted by Rev Davis. Interment at North Sewickley. He was born near North Sewickley and leaves parents a brother Charles and sisters Mrs Florence White and Mrs Effie Parker.
