Fire destroys mobile home in Hickory Township
A late night blaze at Gaslight Mobile Home Park Route 108 Hickory Township left three adults homeless. Fire Chief David White said firefighters arrived around 11:50 p m and found flames from the dining room area window. The home was a total loss and the cause is under investigation though not suspicious. Woman accused of robbing elderly driver in New Castle
A 47 year old West Side woman Angela Renee Kirkland of 338 1/2 Smithfield St is jailed on multiple charges after allegedly robbing an 82 year old man who had given her a ride in the 1000 block of Wilmington Avenue. The driver fought Kirkland over the money and sustained a cut to his left hand. Police identified Kirkland from a description and arrested her in the 300 block of Halco Drive after she resisted officers. She had $61 on arrest and faces numerous charges including robbery simple assault theft from a motor vehicle receiving stolen property resisting arrest defiant trespass harassment soliciting a ride and two counts of disorderly conduct. She was arraigned and held on 1500 bond.
