SUNEURY, Pa. Nov. 1 Lavi Werntz 54 former secretary of the Goal township board of commissioners will never be brought to trial for the death of John Brennan 34 a Shamokin mine foreman. Werntz was found dead in a county prison cell from heart ailment while under investigation for the Brennan homicide.
Charles Robbs began a cross state roll skating trip to Miami, Florida, planning about 1400 miles in six weeks at roughly 25 miles per day. He will deliver a letter from Pittsburgh mayor William N. McNair to the Miami mayor.
Two New Galilee men were injured when their car went over an embankment on the Savannah road near the city outskirts about 1:30 this morning. Clifford Allen, driver, and Andy Caplan, both of New Galilee RD No. 2, sustained injuries. Allen said another vehicle forced him off the road. The car was destroyed by fire. W. R. Harding of Wampum aided the rollout to New Castle Hospital.

Moris Carsman, longtime Highland avenue resident and new manager at Weisner's store in Chicago, was robbed of $600 in company money last Saturday evening. Miss Jane Frank of Hillcrest avenue reports Carsman was closing the store when two bandits ordered him at gunpoint to surrender the Hipney, valued around 36a, in a Windy City hold up.
Senator David A. Reed accused Reconstruction Finance Corporation loans being used by Democrats as a bludgeon to extract tribute from three Pennsylvania firms. Speaking in Wilkes-Barre, Reed did not name the companies but said they were asked to contribute six percent of their profits to the Democratic war chest. The sensational charge drew swift reaction and continues on page two.
NORRISTOWN Pa Nov 1 Pennsylvania's first hunting fatality of the season occurred near here. Irwin Kult 58 of Philadelphia collapsed during a morning hunt with two companions at Plymouth Meeting near Norristown. The coroner ruled a heart attack caused the death. no gunfire occurred.
Pittsburgh Nov 1 Two sisters in law Mrs Ethel Morgan 43 of McKees Rocks and Mrs Nellie Morgan of Stowe township were killed when their car collided with a truck trailer. Their husbands George 51 and Ewart 35 were slightly injured and treated at Ohio Valley hospital. Driver Stephen Breaney 24 Erie escaped injuries. Council Detectives Kline and Riddle investigated.
In Stowe near Pottstown early today Charles D Lehr 34 mailman was killed and three others were injured when an automobile collided with a truck. Letha Kepner 34 a Pottstown mail clerk said Lehr was blinded by headlamps. Kepner suffered a broken leg and fractured hip. Truck occupants Bertam Thompson 27 of this city and Anthony Notinsky 28 of Minersville escaped with minor injuries. Thompson the truck driver was arrested awaiting Montgomery County coroner action.
On opening day of the hunting season students at Confluence High School were given a day off. Principal G. Shaffer joined the students on a hunting trip near Chambersburg, extending the holiday and closing the school for the day.
A fatal shooting and a severe leg wound marred York County's hunting season start. Archie Krimline, 20, was killed by a .22 caliber rifle fired by 13-year-old unlicensed hunter Fred Authey. George Stahle, 30, was shot on land near Manchester by Fred Wasser, possibly needing amputation. Coroner L A Zech notes the incident occurred as hunters dispersed after a strange noise.
New Castle reports the small game season under way with hunters targeting squirrel rabbits pheasants quail and ducks. A federal license is required to hunt ducks in addition to state license. The big game season begins the day after small game ends November 30. Bag limits have been progressively reduced from higher past limits to four rabbits two pheasants or grouse and six of another category, reflecting stricter hunting regulations.
Atlantic City dispatch reports a sedan carrying Halloween revelers skidded into the Mullies river drawbridge near New Gretna New Jersey. The car ripped away guard railing and plunged about 35 feet into water. four or more occupants believed drowned before rescue attempts could begin.

LOWDON Ky Nov 4 a mother and her four children died in a house fire caused by a wind damaged home on the Rockcastle river they were trapped by timber and burned when stove flames spread rescuers found one more child alive a five year old narrowly rescued near the wreckage all victims identified as Mrs Ernir Robinson and five Robinson children aged 12 10 8 and an infant reported at the scene
J Ed ward Baree state deputy attorney general and his strip of eight witnesses held for questioning in Indianapolis hotel over the Crown Point escape of John Dillinger. The group, kept in seclusion, was escorted from Crown Point at dawn Tuesday amid a media tour intended to deter reporters and hinder Lake county authorities seeking release of those in custody.
Chicago November 11. Samuel Insull testified in his mail fraud case claiming personal responsibility for the collapse of the Securities Company while offering to shoulder blame for the other 16 co defendants. He spoke amid intense questioning as jurors weighed the charges.
OL CITY Pa November 1 Edgar Murray 26 of St Peters Pure died in Franklin hospital after his car careened off Ritchie Hill into Emlerton, rolling end over end down a 250 foot ravine. He was found pinned under the car and identified himself before the hospital arrival.

A west Middlesex couple and an elderly Wheatland man died when a Pennsylvania passenger train struck their automobile at the AO street crossing near Wheatland before 10 this morning. The victims are Theodore Cadary 45 and Mrs Lucy Cadary 62 of West Middlesex and George Black 70 of Wheatland. The crash left the auto demolished and the train engine bell and whistle reportedly in use as it struck. The Erie train No 415 conductor W Thompson oversaw aid and the injured were taken to Sharon hospital.
Chicago crowds celebrate the Century of Progress closing with fireworks and carnival revelry. About 283,737 visitors gathered for the final ceremonies as dawn approached and gates remained crowded after midnight amid the festive atmosphere.
