The Skory’s commander was killed as loyalists overwhelmed the mutineers, and a firefight with three other vessels drove shells into nearby government buildings. The battle left many dead or wounded, with the city damaged and martial law in effect. Three agitators linked to the plot were killed or likely killed. several conspirators were arrested.
