Youth Stabbed in Ellwood City Fight Between Friends
Ellwood City police report a 20 year old male, Charles Holiday of 104 Randolph Street, was stabbed during a fight with a buddy in Ellwood City. Holiday refused treatment at Ellwood City General Hospital. Police chief Anthony Casuccio said details were not provided and the investigation continues.

Three Men Arrested in Youngstown Dynamite Attack
In Youngstown Ohio three unidentified men were arrested near the scene of a dynamite bombing at Joe Pignatelli home Friday. A stick of dynamite fuse and cap were seized from one house. Pignatelli and his family escaped unharmed after being warned by police minutes before the blast which opened a two foot porch hole. Sheriff Orlando Dilullo said the crackdown followed surveillance and warrants as investigators staked the street for a conspiracy he warned was broader than a single target.

Family hurt in crash and missing girl alert
Frank Hutchison 32 of New Castle RD 5 and his family were treated and released at Jameson Memorial Hospital after an accident at Mercer and Neshannock Falls roads. His wife Karen and children Edward 8 and Joyedell 5 sustained injuries. Mary K Mount 10 of New Canton Ohio has been missing since Tuesday night with authorities noting a strong possibility of abduction. Justice of the Peace Muriel Carothers bound Frank Brady Jr of Youngstown over to the Lawrence County Grand Jury for Uniform Firearms Act violation. Brady arrested May 23 on U S 422 in Union Township and released on a $1000 cash bond.

Army sergeant escapes Communist captivity after nine months
Sgt. Kenneth R. Gregory of Altus Oklahoma escaped nine months in Viet Cong custody near Tay Ninh City and was picked up by a U S helicopter four days later. He said he cried when rescued and noted his loss of ten pounds. He spent his first meal at Long Binh hospital on fried chicken and awaited debriefing before possible homeward travel. Gregory entered the Army in 1964 and arrived in Vietnam in 1967. his wife and mother live in Altus.

Police praised for restraint during Nixon inauguration protests

Arson Suspected in East Side Garage Fire
A garage behind Robert Trott’s residence on the East Side was gutted by a fire at 2:30 a.m. Police believe intruders entered yesterday afternoon and set the fire with intent to burglarize. Estimated damage was 1300 dollars. A separate burglary at 911 Porter St reported two bathroom fixtures stolen from a vacant home. Police recovered two tires stolen from Phil Fitts Auto Sales. Four boys were seen siphoning gasoline from a vehicle on Chestnut Street. A second story window was smashed at 10 Moody Avenue.

Four mishaps reported by state troopers yesterday
State police logged four accidents, one sending a North Brunswick family to the hospital. George Burnside, 21, wrecked on Pa. 108 when he lost control. Harold Burnside, 25, in serious condition.
